I designed and 3D modeled, in Rhino3D, an interchangeable vacuform platen system by which all the platens are 3D printed.  I experimented with infill percentages and hole placement so the forces of the vacuum pump and two 10 gallon air tanks doesn't implode the platen.  I can also print in a vapor smoothed filament for a super smooth form and creates a good product.
